
Fire departments successfully contained a house fire in East Limestone County with no reported injuries.
LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. — A house fire in East Limestone County Thursday afternoon brought out six fire departments, but fortunately no one was hurt.
The fire broke out in a home near Capshaw Road and McCulley Mill Road. According to the East Limestone Fire Department, the flames were contained to the second floor of the home.
Crews from Elkmont Fire and Rescue, Oak Grove Volunteer Fire, Piney Chapel Fire and Rescue, and Segers Fire and Rescue all assisted in fighting the blaze, along with the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office.

“Amidst the madness of the fire today, we were able to save the cat and bird,” East Limestone County Volunteer Fire posted on social media, offering a bright spot in the tense afternoon.


Fire officials did not release what may have caused the fire.
