
Gaffney, S.C.– Lani Warren had herself a day on Saturday, going 5-for-10 with four home runs and eight RBI’s. Thanks to Warren’s big day the Bears swept Limestone by scored 9-4 and 13-8.
In the opener, LR raced out to a 9-0 lead and cruised to the win thanks to a pair of home runs from Warren and bombs from Cassidy Wall and Alexandria Gray.
In the night cap, the Saints came back from a 7-1 deficit to tie the game but the Bears got out of a big jam to get to extra innings. Madison Primm and Warren went deep in the 8th inning as LR completed the sweep with a 13-8 win.

STORY OF GAME ONE:
- LR jumped out to a 9-0 lead after three innings as the Bears scored four times in the first, three times in the second, and picked up a pair of runs in the third.
- Lani Warren got the Bears on the board three batters into the game with a two-run home run. Warren then hit a three-run shot in the second inning to put LR up 7-0.
- Cassidy Wall had a two-run home run in the second and Alexandria Gray added her home run in the third inning to finish the scoring for the Bears.
- LR did not have a hit after the third inning as Saints did out-hit the Bears 11-6. Warren had her 16th multi-hit game of the season in this one.
- Faith Carrigan got the start and went the distance to pick up her 9th win of the season. Carrigan allowed four runs and stuck out four Saints.
STORY OF GAME TWO:
- Down 1-0, LR hit three home runs in the 4th inning to open a 7-1 lead, including home runs from Wall and Gray for the second straight game.
- The Saints then scored four runs in the 5th and a pair in the 7th to tie the game at seven. Limestone had the winning run on third with just one out but Faith Carrigan got out of the jam to force extra innings. Carrigan picked up the win in relief in game two, pitching the last two innings.
- Madison Primm and Warren hit back-to-back home runs in the 8th inning as the Bears scored six runs in the frame.
- Limestone added a run in the 8th but Carrigan shut the door on the home side to complete the sweep.
- Primm and Warren had seven RBI’s in the night cap as the duo each had three hits.
- Madison Wilson got the no decision in the start, throwing the first six innings allowing seven runs.
STATS OF THE MATCH:
- The Bears snapped a three-game losing streak in Gaffney.
- Lani Warren has now had double digit home runs in each of her first two seasons as a Bear.
- Cassidy Wall’s home runs were her 31st and 32nd career home runs, which moves her in a tie for 8th place all time.
- Katelyn Rackard played and started in her 198th and 199th career games today.
UP NEXT: Lenoir-Rhyne will host #25 Tusculum on Wednesday afternoon at McCrorie Family Stadium. The Pioneers (33-9, 11-7 SAC) are off this weekend and are coming off a split against #8 North Georgia last Wednesday. Tusculum defeated the Nighthawks 8-0 in game one but then lost the night cap 26-1. First-pitch is scheduled for 2:00 PM from Shena Hollar Field.
