
GAFFNEY, S.C. | The UAH men’s lacrosse team started its weekend road swing with a 22-9 setback at No. 3 Limestone on Friday night in nonconference action. UAH slides to 0-2, while LU improves to 4-0.
Limestone accrued an early eight-goal lead over UAH in the first quarter, but the Chargers went on to score three goals apiece in the second, third and fourth quarter despite falling 22-9 on Friday night.
Chris Aiello led the Chargers offense overall with four points at Limestone with one goal and a team-high three assists. The freshman additionally notched three ground balls and one caused turnovers.
Pete Fabrizio scored a roster-best two goals on Friday night, while also chipping one assist and recording a team-high three shots on goal.
Hunter Coleman went 15-for-24 on face-offs and notched a team-high 10 ground balls. UAH performed well overall on face-offs going 22-for-33, as Gerrit Robins went 7-for-9 to combine with Coleman in the face-off circle.
Nate Burt had a strong defensive performance for the Chargers with a team-high two caused turnovers in addition to rating second on the squad with six ground balls.
Tommy Peer played the majority of time in goal for the Blue & White, posting three saves and 14 goals in 34 minutes of work. Jake Sander also had three saves in 24 minutes in the cage, while allowing eight markers.
UAH looks ahead to wrapping up the weekend at Lees-McRae on Sunday, with the opening face-off in Banner Elk, North Carolina, set for 11 a.m. CT.
