
Hickory, N.C.– The Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Lacrosse fell to #3 Limestone 16-6 on Saturday as the Saints used a 10-0 run in the second half to defeat the Bears. Lenoir-Rhyne will look to rebound next Saturday at Lincoln Memorial.

STORY OF THE GAME
- Evan Voss had a pair of goals in the opening quarter as Bears led 3-2 after one.
- The Saints scored the first four goals of the second period as LR was held scoreless until the the final seconds as Cooper Starcke scored an goal off a Limestone turnover as the buzzer sounded for halftime.
- Lenoir-Rhyne scored the first goal of the second half but the Saints closed the quarter on a 5-0 run to take control of the game with an 11-5 lead heading into the final quarter.
- Limestone continued their run, scoring five more goals in the 4th quarter to take a 16-5 lead.
- Nate Serrano snapped the run but Limestone took the game 16-6.
STATS OF THE GAME
- Cory Lyons made 23 saves for the Saints in goal.
- Serrano and Voss had four of the Bears six goals.
- Matthew Mancini won 11 of 19 face offs for the Bears.
- LR did have 15 caused turnovers today, led by three from Parks Painter.
- Bears also out-shot the Saints 50-38.
- Limestone had six players with two goals and Zachary Terry had four to lead everyone.
BEYOND THE STATS
- This is the first time the Bears have lost two straight SAC games in program history.
- Voss now has 79 career goals and moved to 9th all-time.
- Voss now needs just four points to pass assistant coach Ned Kaish for 6th most points all-time.
UP NEXT: The Bears will travel to Lincoln Memorial next Saturday. The Railsplitters are 2-5 (0-3 SAC) and fell 8-5 vs. Coker earlier tonight. LMU will also have to face Anderson on Wednesday before hosting the Bears on Saturday afternoon.
