Waco, Tx (FOX 44) – A former jailer who worked in the Limestone County Detention Center has been sentenced in federal court in Waco in connection with a bribery case.
Lauren Cox was given two years probation and will have a federal record. She had earlier entered a guilty plea on July 9. She had been accused of accepting a gratuity as a public official.

The federal complaint said that she did ” directly or indirectly did demand, receive, accept and agree to receive and accept something of value personally for and because of an official act performed.” She had been accused of receiving $200 in payment for smuggling contraband cigarettes into the Limestone County Detention Center on or about June 1, 2022.
